One Field at a Time
I spent a lot of my weekend on a tractor.
Again. 😂🌾
Hay season is winding down, but when I looked across all the fields, there was still about 135 acres left to go.
Yep. You read that right.
135 acres.
And I’ll be honest—I looked at it and thought, Are we ever going to get this done?
There are days when a job is just too big to look at all at once.
You look at all the fields and see everything that still needs to happen: mowing, raking, baling, loading, stacking…
And it can feel overwhelming.
But sitting on that tractor for hours reminded me of something.
You don't have to finish all the fields today. (well...unless there's rain coming!!)
You just have to keep moving through it.
One pass at a time.
One row at a time.
One bale at a time.
And maybe our health works a lot like that.
We sometimes want to change everything at once. We want to exercise more, eat better, sleep better, get stronger, fix the aches we've been ignoring—and we'd really like to see results immediately.
Today's society is living on instant results. We start exercising and want to feel stronger tomorrow. We change how we're eating and want the scale to move immediately. We start chiropractic care and want everything fixed in three visits.
What used to take 2-4 weeks from a catalogue now you can get in a day! Wow!
Our bodies don't work that way unfortunately.
Healthy change usually isn't one giant decision.
It's the little things we do consistently.
One better choice.
One healthier meal.
One walk.
One good night's sleep.
One appointment we finally stopped putting off.
One small change that becomes another.
And eventually, when we look back, we realize we've covered a lot more ground than we thought.
So if you're looking at your own “135 acres” right now—whether it's your health, your work, your family, or simply life—don't let the size of the job convince you that you can't make progress.
You don't have to finish the whole field today.
Just keep moving through it.
One field.
One step.
One day at a time.
Hang in there....I'll be right there with you....
